Welcome to 7th and 8th grade ELA!

My name is Mrs. Rachel Shearer, and I am so excited to be your English Language Arts teacher for the upcoming school year! I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2018 with a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Professional Writing. I completed Teach For America in 2020 and taught in Manning, SC for three years. This is my second year at Fulmer, and I love being part of this team.

 

We're going to focus on a variety of topics in ELA this year, including grammar, writing, and reading a variety of texts. I am a big believer in independent reading and writing, and we are going to spend plenty of time doing both this year.
