District launches new accelerated academic program for K-12 students

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – Lexington Two is excited to begin its K-12 acceleration program, Lex2 LAUNCH, with the 2022-2023 school year.

We enhanced opportunities for advanced learning at every grade band and established a pathway for students that will ultimately provide them with more opportunities to earn college credits and career certifications upon graduating from our high schools.

Here’s a closer look

  • All students in grades K-2 will participate in weekly enrichment classes to develop their critical thinking, logic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Students in grades 3-5 demonstrating advanced academic performance in ELA and math will have accelerated classes with a curriculum and instructional strategies designed to deepen their conceptual understanding of content.
  • We’ve added an additional opportunity at our middle schools for students to earn a high school computing credit, in addition to the English and math credits already available.
  • Both of our high schools strengthened their Advanced Placement offerings and increased students' access to career courses at the Lexington Two Innovation Center and to dual enrollment courses through our partnership with Midlands Technical College.

We are excited to have these programs at all of our district schools and to offer acceleration opportunities for Lexington Two students of all ages.
