On Wednesday, our 8th grade Falcon FELLAS and Falcon FAMES mentoring groups spent an unforgettable day experiencing college life at South Carolina State University.

From walking the historic campus to enjoying lunch in the dining hall and engaging in insightful conversations with collegiates including Mr. and Ms. Junior of SCSU, our students got a firsthand look at what’s possible.

🎶 What a wonderful evening of music at R.H. Fulmer Middle School! Our Fall Fine Arts Concert on Wednesday, October 7, featured talented students from all three grade levels performing with the Fulmer Choir, Orchestra, and Band.

A special thank-you to Choral Director Ms. De Sena, Orchestra Director Mr. Dunlap, and Band Director Mr. Easterday for guiding and inspiring our musicians. We truly enjoyed the performance and are so proud of all our students for sharing their talents with our school community! 🎵💙

⚡🧲 8th grade science students put their knowledge of Electricity and Magnetism to the test through a collaborative, hands-on review! Working in small groups, students tackled five levels of questions and puzzles, using critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills to advance to each level. When answers didn’t quite add up, they worked together to go back to the drawing board, rethink their approach, and find the solution. This engaging review helped students reflect on their mastery of the content and identify areas where they may need additional practice. 📚

Early College Information Night for 8th Grade families held a the Lexington Two Innovation Center on November 10, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Lex2 Innovation Center's address is 509 Bulldog Blvd. Learn how your child can: plan to take college classes while in high school, earn college credit before graduation, and save money on future college tuition.

A Fulmer Middle School "Playbook" similar to this one for the month of October, but make it for middle school students and school community versus an elementary school one like the one attached. The dates to include in the playbook list are: October 6, Fine Arts Fall Concert at the PAC from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, October 7th and 8th are 7th grade health (vision, hearing, and dental) screenings, also October 7th is a C-Team Football game at Home vs. Blackville Hilda at 6 PM October 8th is our volleyball game at home vs. Lake Marion at 6:00 PM, Friday, October 9th is an in-service day for faculty and staff; NO SCHOOL for students, Monday, October 12 is Columbus Day and Weather Make-up Day so NO SCHOOL, October 14th is the end of Quarter 1 (be sure to have purchased the annual Chromebook Protection Plan that is $25 - the opportunity to purchase this ends at the end of the 1st nine weeks (star and highlight this piece of information about the deadline for the protection plan being the end of the first nine weeks as this is very important), October 13 volleyball game at home vs. BCAA at 6PM, October 14th is a C-Team Football Game AWAY vs. Carver-Edisto at 6PM, October 15 1st Nine Weeks Report Cards are issued, October 21st is a C-Team Football Game AWAY vs. Lake Marion, October 28th is Early Release with dismissal at 12:30 PM, October 29th is Fulmer's annual Party at the Crypt at FMS from 6 PM to 8 PM, also October 29th is a Football C-Team Game at HOME vs. Brookland Cayce at 6 PMand make a section towards the bottom titled "Looking ahead into November" and include these dates: November 3 NO SCHOOL for Election Day, and November 5 is picture make-up day beginning in the morning for those who missed the original picture day, our school's annual Veterans Day Assembly is held on Veterans Day - November 11 beginning at 9:30 AM, November 17th are Quarter 2 Interims sent home, and November 23rd through November 27th is Thanksgiving Break, so NO SCHOOL.

🧈📚Spread the Love of Reading! 📚🧈

A new optional reading challenge was shared with students last week! Students can complete a Butter Book Review for books they read and turn them in to Mrs. Caughman by October 28 at 12:30 PM to be entered into a prize drawing! 🎉
📖 Read a book → 🧈 Complete a Butter Book Review → 🎟️ Enter the drawing! (and everyone receives a Butter bookmark for participating!).

Students may complete up to 3 reviews for 3 different books read during the challenge. One student from each grade level will be selected to win a BUTTER squishy! 🧈✨

Forms are available in the library. Students can also check the Library Google Classroom for a reminder of the challenge instructions.
